THE TEAM AT SPIN CITY

KATE
As a personal trainer and class instructor for the last 5 years, I fell into pole dancing after looking for a fun new challenge to replace 8 years of Muay Thai Kickboxing. After my first session I was addicted!
Pole offered me the opportunity to combine strength work with grace, flexibility and skill. I love the fact that there is always a new and challenging trick or spin to learn - whatever level you reach. I qualified as a Fitness Pole Instructor with Wiggle and Giggle in 2007 and then subsequently with Vertical Dance in 2008.
GEORGE
With a professional background in acting and dance, pole dancing was something that really interested me. Being a freelance instructor in Bristol for the past 8 years teaching a diverse range of classes, it was time for a new challenge!
I find pole dancing addictive, its a great way to have fun and keep fit. I try to incorporate as many different styles of dance to my teaching as possible from salsa to street dance and love to help choreograph individual routines and the Spin City Dance Troupe!
SERENA
I started dancing at the age of 3 and have trained in a wide variety of styles, from ballet to belly dancing, salsa to street jazz. I started pole in January 2008 and fell in love with it. Doing pole has helped me get fit whilst having fun, meeting amazing people and building self-confidence and now by training to teach I'll have the opportunity to help others see these benefits too.
CATH
I have never really been into keep fit, but as I hit 40 I thought I should do something to improve my health. I didn't want to go to a gym and run on a treadmill for hours as that just doesn't seem like fun to me and I knew I would never keep it up. I went to a pole taster session that Kate was running, and from the first spin I was hooked! That was in 2007, and I'm still spinning, still learning and being challenged, and most of all having fun doing it. I started training to become an instructor with Kate in 2008 which has given me the chance to share my love of the pole. I have also studied for a fitness qualification at college and plan to do more this year, something I would never have had the confidence to do before.
ABC level 1 Certificate in Developing Personal Health and Fitness.

KATE
I was gratefully introduced to pole fitness when I couldn't find an exercise class that challenged and interested me. It was love at first spin! The high levels of physical fitness and agility pole develops seemed almost an accident as my mind was distracted by the camaraderie, confidence, fun and friendship that these classes delivered. Now even better I can pass on these skills as an instructor in a sport I love proving everyone can enjoy the thrill of pole and dance and get fit at the same time.
JEN
Jen has been very busy spinning! We hope to have her profile up soon...

KAT
After my first pole fitness course I was hooked. The lessons were fun, challenging and rewarding. There is always something new to learn and achieving a new move is so satisfying. When I was asked if I was interested at teaching I jumped at the chance, I couldn't wait to pass on my knowledge. Since starting the classes I've made loads of new friends and enjoyed many social events including a trip to
DEB
Having not been the most athletic of students at school I embarked on years of various leisure activities to stay in shape, having formed a career in a primarily desk and car based job. I've done body building, army fatigue training, kick boxing, run marathons and recently moved to try the water sports arena and now spend time diving in the sea or water skiing, jet biking and surfing.
In 2008 I found the ultimate in body shaping, strength building and elegance enhancing activities - pole fitness! It is amazing to see your skills - and body - improve, and in such a fun environment. In fact, so much fun I can't stay away and love sharing my new found passion with others.
